Data Products and Product Documentation

Product Categories

The "Product Categories" page is split into two sections:

First view shows high level regions like Americas, APAC, EMEA, Documentation. The Product Categories displayed are dependent upon your license or evaluation agreement as well as the products that you have requested.

Second view shows all of the product categories lines, for the selected region, to which your account is entitled. Examples are Australia, Italy, India, USA DCA1, North America.  Clicking on a product category takes you to the "Product List" page for the selected Product Category. If you do not have access to multiple products, you will be forwarded directly to the "Product List" page.

Product List

The "Product List" page is a third level page that may be split into two sections dependent upon the number of versions of products that are available to you.

The "Current Release" tab displays the most recent versions of products. As new products are released, the most recent is located in Current Release and the prior release(s) is moved to the Previous Releases tab.

The "Previous Release" tab generally displays one to two older release versions. The "Previous Releases" tab will only appear if you have previous versions of the Data Products available to you.

Products are comprised of one or more files. By clicking on the product  you will be directed to the File Download Page where you can initiate the download of the file(s).

Verify the MD5 Signature to ensure complete file download

After the file has downloaded successfully, it is recommended to verify the MD5 fingerprint. The MD5 Signature (checksum) that shows on the download page for each downloadable file is a 128-bit fingerprint produced by the MD5 algorithm. This fingerprint is a 32-digit hexadecimal checksum produced using the file's original contents and can be reproduced just as any fingerprint can be taken twice. You can run your own MD5 algorithm using a checksum utility and then compare the values of the MD5 Signature of the downloaded image with the MD5 Signature provided on the download site. If they are the same, the file that you have downloaded is an exact copy of the original file. If the MD5 is different, then the download did not complete successfully even if the file size of the downloaded image is reported to be the same as the one on the site.

If you are in need of an MD5 checksum utility, they are widely available for download on the Internet. MD5 checksum comes with Linux, Cygwin and several Unix variations. Please check your system as it is well possible that you might have already installed this software on your system.

How to Use Account Notes

The "Notes" feature allows you to post and read messages about your Data Products and Product Documentation. This way you can use the download service to collaborate with other users within your organization in managing your Data Products and Product Documentation.

For example, when supervising the updating of servers across the company, you can use "Notes" to post messages to your administrators, giving them timeframes during which they should update their servers. Additionally, when downloading Data Products and Product Documentation, you can post notes with instructions to your colleagues.
